Offset

Create parallel copies of geometry at a set distance.

Offset creates one or more parallel copies of selected geometry at a precise distance — ideal for wall thicknesses, setbacks, and concentric paths.

Offset starts from a selection

There's no offset icon on the toolbar. Select the source geometry first, then start offset.

  1. 1
    Select source geometry

Use the Select tool (V) to pick the line or shape to offset.

  2. 2
    Start offset

Press O to enter offset mode for the selection.

  3. 3
    Set distance and count

Enter the offset distance (and optionally a copy count) in the offset controls, and choose which side.

  4. 4
    Commit

Confirm to create the offset entities. They appear as new geometry you can edit independently.

Tip

Offset is an app-level operation that generates true parallel geometry — it doesn't just move points. Verify the result before committing if the source has arcs.
