The editor interface
A tour of the toolbar, canvas, side panes, and status bar.
The editor is where you view drawings and create markups. It has four main regions.
Toolbar
The toolbar runs along the top. It holds the drawing tools, the feature search menu (+ or ⌘K) for additional tools, undo/redo, pane toggles, sharing, and export. Hover any tool to see its name and shortcut.
Canvas
The center canvas renders the PDF and every annotation. Pan, zoom, and draw here. The current tool determines what a click does — for example, Select picks entities while Rectangle starts a shape.
Left rail & panes
A rail of icons runs down the left edge. Click one to open its pane; click the same icon again to collapse the pane out of the way. The right pane is the Properties panel — use it to restyle the current selection — plus a markup list.
- Pages — thumbnails of every sheet; click one to jump to it.
- Search — find text inside the PDF, and step through the hits with the arrow keys.
- Annotations — browse and reorder every markup on the document.
- Comments — read and reply to comment threads.
- Signatures — create and place vector signatures.
- Layers — hide, recolor or fade the layers a CAD-exported PDF carries. The icon appears when the document has layers.
- Library — your saved, reusable markups; see Library.
Bottom bar
The bar along the bottom holds the zoom controls, the view controls (page, scroll or grid view, and split screen), the page navigation with its hover preview strip, cursor coordinates, the drawing scale, and quick toggles for snapping and document night mode. Export & Share live together in one menu in the toolbar.
