Feature search (⌘K)

Open the tool search palette from anywhere in the editor.

Press ⌘K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows/Linux) to open feature search — a floating palette for finding tools and beta features by name. It works like a compact command palette: type, filter, and activate without leaving the canvas.

Opening the palette

  • Keyboard: ⌘+K from anywhere in the editor (when focus is not in a text field).
  • Toolbar: click the + control at the end of the tool strip (labeled with the same shortcut on desktop).
  • Press the shortcut again or Esc to close.

  1. 1
    Open

Press ⌘K / Ctrl+K or click + on the toolbar.

  2. 2
    Search

Start typing a tool name, description, or keyword (for example “pan”, “comment”, or “highlight”). The list narrows as you type.

  3. 3
    Activate

Use the arrow keys to highlight a row, then press Enter. The palette closes and the chosen tool becomes active.

Feature search lists tools that live in the + menu — Pan, Zoom region, Offset, Text select, Region fill, Object extractor, Vector screenshot, comments, and other additions beyond the main toolbar. The guided tour also points here as “even more tools.”

Not the same as PDF text search

⌘F / Ctrl+F searches text inside the PDF (left pane). ⌘K searches tools and editor features.

Tip

CAD-style geometry operations (trim, extend, mirror, and similar) are documented separately; many are reached from the selection workflow and Properties panel rather than this palette.
