Selecting & transforming

Move, resize, rotate, and reshape entities.

Once geometry exists, the Select tool (V) lets you transform it precisely.

Move

Drag a selection to move it, or nudge with the arrow keys. See Copy, paste & nudge for nudge modifiers.

Resize & reshape

  • Drag a bounding-box handle to scale the selection.
  • Drag the whitespace inside the bounding box (off the strokes and grips) to move the whole entity — the cursor shows the move symbol.
  • Drag an individual vertex to reshape a polyline or polygon. Clicking a vertex never nudges it; the drag starts after deliberate movement.
  • Use the Transform section of the Properties panel to type exact position, size, and rotation.

Align & distribute

With two or more entities selected, right-click for Align left / center / right / top / middle / bottom. With three or more selected, use Distribute horizontally or Distribute vertically to space centers evenly.

Rotate & mirror

Flip horizontal and Flip vertical in the right-click menu reflect the selection about the bounding-box center on world axes. Mirror (custom axis) is a separate geometry operation: pick two points to define the mirror line. Rotation can also be entered numerically in the Transform section of the Properties panel.
