Smart guides
Alignment hints that appear while you draw and move entities.
Smart guides are temporary alignment lines that appear as you draw or drag, helping you line up with existing geometry.
When an edge, center, or point aligns with another entity, a guide flashes so you can snap to that alignment. Enable or disable smart guides in Preferences under Canvas.
Hint markers near endpoints and midpoints use the same symbols as snapping — a square for an endpoint, a triangle for a midpoint — so a hint always previews exactly the snap you'd get. See Grid & snapping for the full symbol reference.
