Signatures
Create a vector signature and place it on any sheet.
Draw your signature, type it in a script face, or upload a picture of it. Whichever route you take, Vellum turns it into real vector geometry that scales without blur and exports as true PDF paths.
Creating a signature
- Draw — sign with a pen, a finger or the mouse. Undo last stroke takes back a slip.
- Trackpad — sign on a laptop trackpad without holding it down: click once to put the pen down, glide to draw, click again to lift it. Holding Space while you move draws too.
- Type — enter your name and pick one of the bundled script faces; the preview is exactly what will be placed.
- Upload — drop an image of your signature; Vellum traces it into vectors.
Open Signatures on the left rail and click the add button to open Create New Signature; pick a tab, sign, and give it a name. Your signatures are stored with your account, not the project, and the dialog shows how many of your allowance you have used.
Placing a signature
- Click a signature tile to place it in the middle of the view, or drag it onto the drawing.
- A placed signature is one object: select it to get a bounding box, then move, scale or rotate it as a whole. Delete removes the whole signature.
- Restyle it like any markup — for example change its color — from the Properties panel.
Older signatures
Signatures saved before vector signatures existed are converted to vectors the first time you place them. Deleting a signature from the pane does not remove copies already placed on drawings.
