PDF layers
Hide, recolor or fade the layers a CAD-exported PDF carries.
PDFs exported from CAD usually carry their layers with them. The Layers pane lets you hide, recolor or fade any of them: fade the existing conditions and leave the proposed work at full weight, or hide the survey layer while you check grading.
- Click Layers on the left rail. The icon appears when the document carries layers; each layer is one row, with the name the PDF gives it.
- Eye — show or hide the layer.
- Color swatch — pick a custom color for the layer, or return to the colors in the PDF.
- Opacity — fade the layer without hiding it.
- Reset puts every layer back to the PDF's own defaults.
A layer that appears on several sheets is one row and one toggle: hide it once and it is hidden on every sheet where it occurs. Your layer settings carry through to the page thumbnails and to export.
Not the same as markup layers
These are the PDF's own layers. Your markups have their own layer and draw order, set in the Properties panel.
